About

Drinking ginger beer at the Green Dragon Inn. Hobbiton, Matamata, New Zealand.

I’m a twenty-something expat, born and raised in Manila, currently residing in Auckland, New Zealand. This blog tries to document my expat life here in Auckland, focusing on my love of food and photography.

Why ‘halo halo atbp?’

Halo-halo is a traditional Filipino dessert made of crushed ice, sugar, evaporated milk, with sweet beans, fruits, and jellies. It sometimes comes with leche flan (or crème caramel) and ice cream, which makes it even better. The name ‘halo-halo’ literally translates to ‘mix-mix’ or mixed together, while ‘atbp’ (an abbreviation of ‘at iba pa’) is Filipino for etcerera. This blog would try to focus on food and dining out in Auckland, but of course I’m not going to stop myself from posting something else in between, etcetera.
